The Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Zagazig was founded on 1974. The first degree awarded in 1979. The first curiculum implemented in 1978.The facualty activity was run under the supervesion of late Prof.Dr.Abdel-Azeem A.Shalaby,Faculty of Science’s Dean (1975-1978)
- The first dean was Prof.Dr.Afaf Abul-kheir(1978-1984)
- The second dean was Prof.Dr.Fathy T. Abdel-Aziz (1984-1989)
- The third dean was Prof.Dr.Mohamed Salama (1990-1996)
- The fourth dean was Prof.Dr.Maher M. El-domiaty (1996-2002)
- The fifth dean was Prof.Dr.Mohamed Abdel-Aal (2003-2008)
- The Sixth dean was Prof.Dr. Mohamed Naguib Mohamed (2008-present)

The mission of the faculty of Pharmacy University of Zagazig is to provide the local and international communities with competent pharmacists able to manufacture and deliver effective and safe drugs; contribute to scientific drug research and capable to continue their life - long educational development in order to provide the best community health services
The overwhelming development of world scientific technology and progressive biotechnological events for drug discovery together with the intellectual advancement of global health care services have created responsible pressure on the Faculty of
Pharmacy, University of Zagazig to design an integrated program and induce curriculum development to foster in the graduates a professional attitude towards the deployment of pharmaceutical knowledge and skills so that they can contribute to the global enhancement for health care and innovation in pharmaceutical science, technology and services.
