The University of Zagazig was established on 14 / 4 / 1974 (presidential decree # 18 / 1974) as a branch of the University of Ain Shams and was separated as intact body on 1975.
The university is considered the 7th among the Egyptian Universities, since it encompasses more than hundred thousands (100,000) students against 4745 faculty members and staff distributed in 18 faculties and institutes.
